CHRIS GALVIN

Chris Galvin is one of Britain’s most respected restaurateurs, with more than three decades of experience at the forefront of London’s hospitality industry. Alongside his brother Jeff, he has built the Galvin Restaurants group into a collection of acclaimed restaurants and pubs, earning a reputation for exceptional food, warm hospitality and a commitment to developing the next generation of hospitality talent.

Chris and Jeff also hold the distinction of being the first British brothers to hold Michelin stars simultaneously at different restaurants, cementing their place in British culinary history.

In 2005, Chris and Jeff opened their first solo venture, Galvin Bistrot de Luxe on Baker Street. The restaurant quickly became an overnight success, winning numerous accolades including Best French Restaurant for two consecutive years and Best Wine List in 2009. The brothers went on to open a number of acclaimed venues across London, including Galvin at Windows and Galvin La Chapelle.

Today, the Galvin restaurant group comprises three venues: Galvin La Chapelle, their Michelin-starred restaurant in Spitalfields; Galvin Bistrot & Bar, a Mediterranean-inspired neighbourhood bistro and bar in Spitalfields; and Galvin Green Man, their award-winning 700-year-old country pub in Essex, which holds a Michelin Bib Gourmand.

With a career defined by entrepreneurial spirit, exceptional hospitality and a commitment to nurturing talent, Chris Galvin continues to play an influential role in the UK restaurant industry.

Galvin: A Cookbook de Luxe

From two of Britain’s favourite Michelin-starred chefs comes Galvin: A Cookbook de Luxe, in which brothers Chris and Jeff Galvin offer their singular take on one of the world’s favourite cuisines — the much-loved and ever-popular brasserie de luxe food of France.

Bringing the style and spirit of the Galvin restaurants into the home kitchen, the book features 150 recipes, including mouthwatering classics such as Cassoulet of Toulouse Sausage, Crisp Confit of Duck Leg, Black Pudding and Salad Lyonnaise and Apple Tatin with Crème Normande.

Richly illustrated throughout, Galvin: A Cookbook de Luxe celebrates classic French cooking, combining traditional dishes with the skill, generosity and distinctive approach that have made the Galvin brothers such influential figures in British hospitality.
