JOANNA KORI
Joanna Kori is an artist, writer and creative practitioner whose work spans sculpture, drawing, installation, poetry, prose and spoken word. Her work often blends physical and digital experiences, exploring memory, place, work and the relationship between the individual and the world around them.
Joanna studied Fine Art at the Ruskin School of Art, Oxford, and Photography at the Royal College of Art in London. Her work has been shown widely, including at the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition, Quay Arts and Art-House-Life, and in 2021 she undertook a Circular Economy Artist Residency with the Ellen MacArthur Foundation.
Alongside her visual practice, Joanna writes prose and poetry and performs at selected spoken word and art events, with a particular interest in censorship and the silenced voice. During 2026 she is collaborating with award-winning poet Maggie Sawkins, currently Poet in Residence at Art-House-Life.
Joanna is also a co-founder of Art-House-Life and has worked extensively in community arts as a curator, workshop facilitator, artist educator, coach and mentor.

Writers' Residencies
As current Poet in Residence at Art-House-Life based in Osborne House Stable Block, Maggie Sawkins will present work inspired by her collaboration to date with the artist Joanna Kori.
The presentation will be followed by a conversation between Maggie and Joanna about writers’ residencies and the mutual opportunities they offer - from exploring each other’s language forms and exchanging perspectives, to opening new creative directions for both parties that might not have otherwise emerged.
