MIKE CHRISTIE

Mike Christie started singing professionally at the age of eight as a chorister, during which time he appeared in the film Four Weddings and a Funeral. He later went on to study singing and piano at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London.

Mike is a member of the vocal harmony group G4, who shot to fame on the first ever series of The X Factor and went on to sell more than two million albums. They have duetted with Lesley Garrett, Robin Gibb, Stephen Gately and Sir Cliff Richard, and have headlined at the Royal Albert Hall more than a dozen times.

Mike wrote an opera, The Miller’s Wife, which premièred in London in 2013 and was inspired by a discovery he made in his family tree. He has also performed in a number of musicals and operas in London, including Eugene Onegin, Manon Lescaut and Macbeth, and has released three solo albums.

He is the founder of the annual Wight Proms Festival, which he created in 2018 to give something back to his hometown of Cowes. The festival celebrates comedy, opera, dance, drag, musical theatre and classical proms and takes place at Northwood House.

Mike is also an Ambassador for Independent Arts, Mountbatten and Missing People UK, and continues to play an active role in the cultural life of the Isle of Wight.
