SEAN O'CONNOR

Sean has worked as a writer and director in film, TV, radio and theatre.  With a background in theatre, he has worked as showrunner on some of the biggest UK TV dramas including Footballers’ Wives, EastEnders and Hollyoaks. He gained particular acclaim for his three-year domestic violence story when he helmed The Archers for BBC Radio.

He is also a writer of non-fiction. As well as The Haunting of Borley Rectory, he wrote Handsome Brute, a study of the murderer Neville Heath which is currently in development with a script by Mark Gatiss. His study of the Rattenbury case, The Fatal Passion of Alma Rattenbury is to be adapted by Neil McKay for Two Cities Television. In 2011, Sean also brought film director Terence Davies back from retirement to make The Deep Blue Sea, featuring Rachel Weisz, Tom Hiddleston and Simon Russell Beale. He is also a Trustee of the Estate of Sir Terence Rattigan.
